Q1 What is your first name and nationality?
My name is Sherryl and I am a Filipino.
Q2 How long have you been in Australia?
I've been here for 5 months now.
Q3 As a child, what job did you want to have when you grew up?
I wanted to become a Registered Nurse.
Q4 What was your first job? Best job/why?
My first and best job was working in the military hospital abroad as a Registered Nurse, because i experienced lots of challenging cases as an Emergency Room Staff Nurse.
Q5 What are you studying at BCC Institute? Do you like it? Why/why not?
I am studying Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.Yes, i really like it, because I love being with children and I love teaching them and sharing my knowledge and skills with them.
Q6 What are some things that you have done in Australia?
As of now while studying I am also working in a factory. I know it is very far in the profession that I have but as of now I don't have choice just to support my studies and my everyday living here in Australia as a working student. But even still, I am happy to have this job as I have met new people and learned new skills.
Q7 Other than Australia, which country would you like to live in and why?
I want to go to Canada as well. Since I was a child I have dreamed about going to Australia or Canada because I have the feeling that my family and I would have a good life in the future in these two countries.
Q8 What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Being a Registered Nurse in the Philippines and Saudi Arabia and working as a Registered Nurse for both countries for my past 16 years of life. Taking good care of my patients and others is my passion and things which I love most.
Q9 What advice would you give to a student planning on studying your course?
Before they start studying this course they should love working or be with children first.
