Meet our lovely students and staff! Each month we profile a student or staff member so you can learn a bit about what makes us tick.
Q1 What is your first name and nationality?
My name is Fernanda, I'm from Brazil.
Q2 How long have you been in Australia?
I've been in Australia for 1 year and 3 months.
Q3 As a child, what job did you want to have when you grew up?

When I was a child I dreamed of being a teacher, because my mother was a teacher and I admired this profession a lot.

Q4 What is your country famous for?

Brazil is famous for being a country with beautiful beaches, it is famous for the great city of São Paulo, for the city of Rio de Janeiro where Christ the Redeemer is and for the wonderful Amazon Forest.

Q5 What was your first job? Best job/why?

I worked for eleven years in the same school as a teacher, I stopped working to do an exchange here in Australia. I am a teacher because the things I always liked to do, I always studied and prepared for it, and as an educator I know that study is necessary, and there is always something new to study and learn.

Q6 What are you studying at BCC Institute? Do you like it? Why/why not?

I chose BCC Institute because when I saw it I realized that it was a serious school and committed to the student, I was very well received and today studying here I see that it is exactly like the information I saw on the website and Facebook. I am really enjoying studying at the BCC Institute.

Q7 What are some things that you have done in Australia?

Since I arrived I have improved my level of English, exactly as I planned, even because studying and living in the country whose first language is the language that someone wants to acquire is the right way, because here it is possible to put into practice all knowledge and study I've done so far.

Q8 Other than the present, which historical era would you like to have lived in and
why?

I like the period that I'm living in, the technological era in which we can have access to information quickly, I wouldn't trade that for any period. I was born and grew up before the internet and the cell phone, I know very well how it all makes our lives easier. Without a shadow of doubt this is the best time to live when you have goals and technology makes your life easier. I can talk to and see my family in real time even though I'm on the other side of the world, this is amazing! It sure makes all the difference when I think about the quality of life that we can have for all the facilities of technology and especially the internet.

Q9 What accomplishment are you most proud of?

I am proud of my career, of what I have built so far, of my two graduations and of the other training courses I have done in Brazil. I am proud to be here. I made it my goal a few years ago, and as difficult as it was for each stage to be here studying and living in this experience, it is making me a person that I am very proud of, proud of my sister and wife that I am. I am very satisfied with the choices I made.

Q10 What advice would you give to a student planning on studying your course?

Studying is making you better, it is improving you, so my advice is to come and study with us and be really willing to study. It is very pleasant to study with people who have the common goal of learning with you, optimizing time and focusing on improving yourself.
