BCC Institute Staff Profile August 2021

Meet our lovely students and staff! Each month we profile a student or staff member so you can learn a bit about what makes us tick.
Q1 What is your name?
Irshad Cader.
Q2 What is your role at BCC Institute?
Trainer & Assessor for Diploma in Leadership & Management.
Q3 What is your earliest memory?
The earliest memory of which I cherish is the graduation ceremony of my Master's degree at the University of Macquarie, Sydney.
Q4 Did you play any sports or have any hobbies as a teenager?
I love playing cricket. When I was young, anyone could see me always with a cricket bat in my hand. I like visiting countries and exploring the countries' food, culture, and culturally important places.
Q5 Did you have a teen idol? Who was it and what were they famous for?
My teen idol was Sir Don Bradman and he was the greatest batsman of all time. Bradman's career Test batting averaged 99.94 and has been cited as the greatest achievement by any sportsman in any major sport.
Q6 What was your first job? Best job/why? Worst job/why? Ideal job/why?
My first job was being a Medical representative for Pfizer. Since I couldn't become a medical doctor, I was happy at least that I was able to be in the medical field. My best job has been the role of Executive Director for Duty-Free at 3 international Airports. I really enjoyed that role. My ideal job has been involved in the training and development of students and professionals. I love sharing my knowledge and experience which brings me greater satisfaction.
Q7 Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
My parents have been the biggest influence on my career. They extended their fullest support in investing, guiding, encouraging, and consoling me throughout my career.
Q8 What is your favourite place in Sydney (that perhaps not many people know
about)?
My favourite place for fishing in Sydney is Gladesville Wharf, Parramatta River. Gladesville Wharf is known for its massive population of mulloway, and flatheads, though it’s recommended that you venture out at night when the ferry has called it for the day. Absolutely marvelous.
Q9 If you could visit any country, where would you go?
Malaysia is my favourite destination. It is a beautiful country with a tropical climate. A nice mix of culture and architecture from colonial times. You will find beautiful sceneries throughout the country.
Q10 What advice would you give to new students?
We are passing through a very difficult time. Do not lose hope, and be optimistic. Keep continuing your studies, utilize this time to upskill yourself in order to shine in the post-pandemic era where there will be enormous opportunities waiting for you.
