Learn about nutrition for small children and create a pathway to employment for those wanting to work as cooks in a childcare setting or just a new mum wanting to know more about providing the best nutrition for their child. The course content is regularly updated to ensure that attending this training keeps participants up to date with the latest developments.

Candidates will learn about:

  • How to promote, model and engage children in positive experiences that encourage healthy lifestyle and good nutrition
  • Follow food safety procedures when preparing food
  • Develop an understanding about the food requirements of the 0-5 years age group
  • How to read and interpret food labels and plan menus
  • Plan and prepare a menu at a childcare centre

Students will gain a Statement of attainment in partial completion of the qualification CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
